Japanese subtitles and/or voice-overs are indispensable if foreign movies and television series are to gain exposure in the Japanese market. At Broadmedia Studios, alongside our distribution business, we have simultaneously developed a production business, leveraging our extensive experience amassed over many years. Since the establishment of a production studio in Roppongi in 1989, we have continually provided Japan Broadcasting Corporation (known as NHK) and the commercial broadcasting stations with high-quality Japanese-language versions of first-rate movies and programs.
Owing to the high reliability of our production skills and technology, we are often engaged to provide video content packaged together with a Japanese language-version as a set. In recent years, the high level of our production ability has not only attracted the attention of television stations, movie companies and video production companies, but game developers as well. We have also expanded into the production of trailers for TV programs, DVD sales, and the production of closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
The high level of support we enjoy from these various industries is attributable to our achievements in updating our production technology and facilities, and also the flexibility with which each member of our production staff responds to customer needs.
The Company has pioneered the transition to digitalization in television broadcasting through the introduction of full digital facilities in Roppongi and Tsukishima, including HDTV editing rooms and mixing audio equipment for 5.1 channel surround sound, capable of handling any kind of digital broadcasting.
The Company will continue undertaking production of Japanese-language versions for television broadcasting, theater and video releases while positioning itself to handle the anticipated growth in demand for low-cost subtitling services. Outsourcing to SOHO (Small Office Home Office) businesses is one way the Company will improve speed and efficiency and better meet the needs of the market. |
